FOR DISTRIBUTION – SAFETY

Recently, Cochrane RCMP have been responding to reports of the following nature:
 
* between 3 AM and 5 AM (could happen at any time)
* one male frantically pounding on the door of rural residence near the city limits of Calgary,
* person claiming they have been assaulted and/or robbed in the city by unknown persons,
* person claiming they were transported by car and dumped near the residence, and
* person asking to go inside the residence to use the telephone.
When police arrive the person is nowhere to be found.
 
Do not open the door.
Do not allow anyone inside the residence.
Call police immediately – 911 Emergency.
 
To date, the person has not attempted to forcibly gain access into the residence.
Reports suggest the person is alone, but it is possible additional person(s) are nearby.
Given the time of day, it is possible the male is counting on confusion mixed with the fog of sleep that homeowners may open the door.
 
Stay vigilante, stay safe, and report suspicious activity.
